Welcome to our blog site which tells you a bit about what to expect if you come and work for us.
Harvest starts in late March or early April (it all depends on the weather) and goes for about a month to six weeks. In April it is usually about 40 hours plus per week (as long as there are no machinery break- downs.) The weather can change to cool days and nights so be sure to have some warm clothes as well as summer clothes.

Work involves being outside in the orchards and also doing a lot of process work in the sheds where the walnuts are washed and sorted. Old working clothes are best and you must have good shoes... no thongs or sandals.
If you are not working in the walnuts you will be doing other jobs around the farm, house or our garden.
You are paid $19 per hour for the time that you work. It can be dusty work and there is a lot of standing involved.
If you have a drivers license then you can drive some of the farm vehicles.
A car is useful as to get food and shopping it is a 30 minute drive to Benalla town. But often the workers help each other out with this.
